"Šypsenos akademija" has an agreement with the territorial patients' funds (TLK), which provide reimbursement from the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (CHIF) for the cost of dentures (see below for the amount of the reimbursement and the criteria for reimbursement).
As of 1 January 2021, there is no longer a queue for dentures, so you no longer have to fill in an application form and wait to be notified by the Territorial Health Insurance Fund (THC). You can contact "Šypsenos Akademija" directly to register for reimbursement.
Dental prosthesis are a procedure that restores a person's lost teeth to regain full chewing function with removable or removable dentures. Dentures can restore one, several or even all teeth.
The following persons are eligible for dentures reimbursed by the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (PSDF):
Persons who have reached retirement pension age;
People with disabilities;
Children under 18 years;

For adults, the reimbursement is up to €670.39.
Patients whose mandible is edentulous or whose teeth are to be extracted have the opportunity to apply for a medical consulta* and the possibility of receiving an increased reimbursement of up to €2 062.70.
Patients with more than grade II pathological wear of all teeth (more than 1/3 of the crown height) - up to €670.39.
After specific (radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy) treatment, there are fewer than 10 functionally complete pairs of contacting natural or quality prosthetic antagonistic teeth in the oral cavity, from the first molar to the first molar on the other side - up to €670.39.
Oral, maxillofacial surgery with soft tissue removal and/or bone resection in the jaw area - up to €670.39.
For children up to 18 years of age, temporary prosthetics are reimbursed up to €342,13. If a medical consensus* assesses that a child under 18 will have a permanent prosthesis, the amount of the reimbursement is up to €2 062,70.
*Patients with a consilium report can contact "Šypsenos Akademija" and start treatment with us.
Dental prosthesis
A consultation with the necessary specialist is provided.
The patient contacts the nearest "Šypsenos akademija" dental clinic. The patient's information is entered into the system, and once the system confirms that the patient is eligible for compensation, a request for prosthetic services compensation is registered.
The patient is presented with treatment options, the process, the number of visits, and the cost that the patient will need to cover after the TLK compensation is deducted.
The patient receives treatment. No further action is required from the patient regarding the compensation, as the "Šypsenos akademija" team takes care of everything.

You can receive TLK compensation for prosthetics every 3 years, except in cases of oral cancer diseases. TLK also provides a €22 compensation for a required doctor’s consultation, which can be used only once per year.
Seniors, individuals under 18, people with disabilities, and those diagnosed with oral, facial, or jaw cancer-related diseases.
In 2024, the Health Insurance Fund allocates up to €670.39 for prosthetic services. Patients whose lower jaw is edentulous or who will have teeth extracted can apply for a doctor's consultation and potentially receive an increased compensation.
Patients who meet the criteria set by TLK can contact Šypsenos akademija for the necessary treatment. During the consultation, the dental condition is assessed, a treatment plan is created, and a request for TLK compensation is immediately registered in the TLK system.
All that is needed is your personal identification document.
After registering the request in the TLK system, you must choose a healthcare facility within 3 months. If this period is exceeded, the request will need to be registered again.
